After seven years of documenting my own illness through self portraits, I’ve decided to turn the lens over to other men and women who wish to explore their own bodies. All the models you see in this series are non professional and have chosen to take part for a variety of reasons—eating disorders, emotional trauma, or simply the joy of exploring the human form. Gender and Bodies, on one hand, explores the ever changing and complex relationship a woman has with her body whilst on the other, explores the fine line between art and pornography; the ideas of why female nudity has a more commonplace in art than male nudity does; how to represent the male form today and to view a woman by a woman. Gender and Bodies eclipses all of this and more, while giving space to those who wish to explore their own selves through photography.
